Running on two axles, the classic tanker was highly manoeuvrable and able to replenish the stocks at the petrol station at any time. In the early years of Germany’s emerging Economic Miracle, the Mercedes-Benz long hood set off from the Gasolin fuel depots to deliver petrol to the customers. It is hard to believe that the "Gasolin" logo used to label 3,500 fuel stations in Western Germany. The density of the network of fuel pumps at the time made the tankers a common sight everywhere. The fact that the red and white brand colours of the "Gasolin" company eventually fell victim to the market concentration of the mineral oil industry adds yet another remarkable chapter to the history of fuel stations, which WIKING frequently honours by devoting new products to it
