Shipping policy
Shipping Policy
Our website automatically calculates your shipping costs based on your location when you place an order based on common or standard product dimensions, weights, and product contents. In some cases, a product may not be able to be shipped to your location using standard carrier methods due to weight, size or other factors (see below). We reserve the right to revise provided shipping costs and request additional payment before shipping. We will contact you with additional costs before processing and shipping your order. If you do not want to pay these additional costs you may cancel the order or specific items without penalty.
Oversized Items
Some items in our store may be subject to an additional shipping surcharge if the shipping carrier considers them an oversize or overweight item. This may not be reflected in the shipping charges shown when you checkout. Our staff will contact you before shipping your order to make you aware of these charges and send you an invoice to cover the additional shipping. You have the option to cancel any items with extra shipping fees at no charge. Some examples of these items include flex track lengths, some balsa and basswood, large scale items, framed artwork and large grass mats.
Paints and liquids damaged by freezing temperatures
Please be aware when placing your order that some paints, glues, liquids and other materials may be damaged by freezing temperatures during winter months. We will do our best to warn you when processing your order that items may be damaged by freezing but we cannot be held responsible for items damaged by cold or freezing temperatures. Returns or replacements cannot be offered for these items.
Hazardous Goods
In some cases we may not be able to ship some paints, glues or other items considered hazardous goods to your location. We will contact you when processing your order to inform you of any restrictions and offer you the chance to cancel you order without penalty.
Additional Taxes, Duties and Tariffs
As of August 29th, 2025, the US government has removed the “de minimis” exemption for parcels entering the USA. Our checkout process will collect all required duties, taxes, and tariffs for US bound orders where applicable. Duties, tariffs and taxes collected are non-refundable once an order is submitted.
We are NOT responsible for any additional duties, taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, or other charges that may be charged to you before you receive your shipment from us. Please check and stay updated on, any possible charges that may be levied on your parcel before it arrives from our location in Canada.
