Members meet on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings to continuously update their modular designs, which meticulously depict detailed logging and mining operations alongside realistic locomotive servicing facilities. Perennial crowd favorites at regional exhibitions like the Victoria Train Show, Nanaimo Regional Train Show, and the Saanich Historical Artefacts Society's Christmas presentation, the club primarily welcomes active or retired military personnel, DND staff, and government employees, while also extending limited membership spaces to junior modelers and civilian enthusiasts.

The Dewdney-Alouette Railway Society (DARS) has spent over 35 years lovingly crafting and maintaining a detailed diorama centered on Port Haney in 1926, located on the lower level of the Maple Ridge Museum. While primarily focused on N-scale, the group includes members modeling in HO, On3, and G scales, with all current layouts utilizing DCC technology. The club has no membership dues or formal meetings, opting instead to connect through periodic "train nights," work parties in members' homes, and informal weekday coffee sessions at a local Starbucks. Since 2006, the layout has been permanently housed on the mezzanine floor of the local railway museum, as growing layout dimensions and shifting membership made traveling unmanageable. Though it can still be disassembled, the layout remains stationary, intricately depicting portions of the CPR’s Revelstoke Division with a primary focus on the line from Revelstoke to the Connaught Tunnel under Rogers Pass. Currently consisting of a small group of members, the club enthusiastically welcomes new enthusiasts of all experience levels to join.
