Refund policy

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, UNUSED, with all parts and accessories, and in its original, undamaged packaging. You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@ictrainsandhobbies.com. Please DO NOT send a return without obtaining a return authorization code (RMA) from us.  Packages without an RMA may be refused.

If a product has been used or damaged by misuse we reserve the right to refuse a return or charge a restocking fee commensurate with the damage to the product.

We do not refund shipping charges or cover return shipping unless the wrong product was sent in error, the item was damaged during shipping, or the product was non-functional /damaged. For 2nd hand items we reserve the right to refuse returns or charge a restocking fee if the item is being returned for an issue clearly visible in the product photos or as described in the product description.  

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you and RMA number/code and instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Customized Products
New products that have been modified from their original factory state (decoder installed, details added or the item similarly modified) will be subject to a minimum 25% restocking fee upon return.

Duties, Tariffs and other 3rd party Fees
We do not refund any duties, tariffs, or other taxes/fees or charges collected by 3rd party organizations (such as shipping companies) or government agencies.  

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, some paint and glues, custom products (such as special orders or personalized items) and magazines.  We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.


European Union 14 day cooling off period and right of withdrawl
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, custoemrs have the right to cancel or return orders within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, the item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags/marklngs, and in its original packaging. The original packing slip  and order number must be provided. If the package has already shipped to the customer when the right of withdrawl is exercised, the customer is responsible for the full cost of comparable return shipping (return must be shipped air if your parcel was shipped air) and insurance to return the goods to us.


Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
