The cubic generation launched by Mercedes-Benz now debuts as a flatbed version with a tri-axle heavy-duty chassis. This latest addition expands the range of contemporary construction vehicles of the sixties that remained in service far into seventies. For many companies, the cubic cab-over-engine rang in a new era after construction sites had been dominated almost exclusively by bonnet trucks up to that point. The introduction of the cubic series allowed Mercedes-Benz to take the market in a new direction as the tri-axle cab-over-engine proved to be both powerful and highly manoeuvrable. After quickly winning over construction companies with their outstanding day-to-day performance, the New Generation (NG) that came next found it much easier to sway the companies’ all -important vehicle purchasing decision in their favour
