The 7193 833-9 electric locomotive is a modern Siemens Vectron MS and forms part of a new series of locomotives operated by SBB Cargo International. These multi-system locomotives were procured for cross-border European freight transport and, thanks to their specifications, can operate on various traction power supply and train protection systems. The locomotives are leased to SBB Cargo International by SüdLeasing.
The 193 833, which entered service in 2026, bears the name "Matterhorn" and thus joins a class of locomotives named after famous Swiss mountain peaks. Its sister locomotives, 193 830 to 193 832, are named "Eiger", "Mönch" and "Jungfrau", for example.
