The class 1245 was, following the classes 1045 and 1145, the third Austrian standard electric locomotive with a Bo'Bo' wheel arrangement. It was equipped with four traction motors, had an hourly output of 1,840 kW, reached a top speed of 80 km/h, and weighed 83 tonnes. Thanks to its powerful Sécheron spring drive, it was regarded as reliable and versatile. The locomotives remained in regular service until 1995 and were subsequently withdrawn.
