The Class 80 electric locomotive of the Bulgarian State Railways (BDŽ) is a modern Siemens Smartron designed for passenger services. The four-axle Bo'Bo' locomotive is technically based on the Vectron platform, delivers around 5,600 kW and reaches 160 km/h. BDŽ initially ordered 15 units and later a further 10; the class thus comprises a total of 25 locomotives, built or delivered between 2020 and 2025. The locomotives are deployed on key long-distance routes, including those from Sofia towards Burgas, Varna, Svilengrad and Kulata.
