The ER 20 series is part of Siemens' tried-and-tested Eurorunner family and exemplifies powerful, reliable traction in modern rail transport. Equipped with a powerful diesel engine and modern three-phase technology, the ER 20 delivers around 2,000 kW of output and is designed for a top speed of up to 140 km/h. This makes it suitable for both high-speed regional services and demanding freight operations on non-electrified lines.
The 223 011-8/ER 20-011 was delivered to Siemens Dispolok in 2006 and incorporated into the leasing pool. In the following years, it was deployed by various railway operators. In 2015, the locomotive became the property of Beacon Rail and has since been used flexibly in leasing operations by various railway undertakings.
