The T 478.1 and T 478.2 classes are diesel-electric mixed-traffic locomotives. They owe their nickname "Bardotka" to the French actress Brigitte Bardot, reflecting their distinctive appearance. Between 1966 and 1971, 230 production locomotives were built for the former CSD at the CKD works in Prague.
With the introduction of computerised traction unit numbering in 1988, the locomotives were redesignated as Classes 751 and 752, respectively. Since 1998, ZSSK's Class 751 locomotives have been painted in a uniform grey and red livery and have been used primarily for freight services.
