The TRAXX 3 MS locomotives were developed specifically for cross-border transport on the most important European freight corridors. Thanks to their multi-system capability, they can be operated on various power supply systems. The class reaches a top speed of 160 km/h and delivers up to 6,400 kW in AC operation. What sets this generation of TRAXX apart is the optional ‘last-mile' function - a small additional diesel engine with a battery, enabling the electric locomotives to cover short distances on sidings or in ports without overhead lines entirely without the need for a shunting locomotive.
