The Dutch Society of Railway and Tram Enthusiasts (NVBS) celebrated its 95th anniversary in 2026. The occasion was used to raise the society's profile among all railway enthusiasts. Rail Force One (RFO) provided locomotive 1831 for this purpose. The former NS locomotive was still in service in the colours of the now-defunct company Locon. In early December 2025, a group of dedicated NVBS volunteers patiently removed the wrapping from the locomotive. The locomotive was then repainted in its new livery as NVBS/RFO 1931 - a deliberate reference to the year the NVBS was founded. The official European vehicle number naturally remained unchanged.
