Description
The Broadway Limited HO Scale Instruction and Exhibit Cars are replicas of some of the most distinctive passenger cars ever built, with each one designed for a unique role. Instruction cars were used primarily for employee training - helping railroaders learn about equipment, safety procedures, and handling hazardous materials. Exhibit cars also served the public, offering traveling displays that highlighted railroad history, safety awareness, and career opportunities. Together, these cars represented both education and outreach, making them a fascinating and memorable part of railroad history. The models of these specialized cars are based on modified coach tooling originally developed for the 1947 American Freedom Train models. Since every prototype inspection and exhibit car was custom-built and truly one-of-a-kind, it isn't possible to reproduce each one exactly. Instead, the 80{ modified coach design was modified to capture the look and spirit of these distinctive cars.
Each car features appropriate details and is equipped with appropriate trucks with metal wheels, Kadee(R) metal knuckle couplers and sprung diaphragms. Wheels are profiled to operate on Code 70 and larger rail and curves of 18" radius, but larger curves are recommended.
