Description
This Bachmann HO Scale Siemens SC-44 Charger with WowSound and DCC is based on the fleet of regional and commuter diesels delivered to Amtrak and several commuter railroads beginning in 2017. Built in Siemens Mobility's Sacramento facility, the 4,400 horsepower SC-44 Chargers have become popular with many commuter lines. Amtrak later ordered the long-distance version of the diesel designated the ALC-42. VIA Rail Canada ordered a version of the diesel as well, designated the SC-42. Bachmann's SC-44 has been developed using original design documentation and employs prototype field recordings for maximum realism. Features include a TCS WOWSound CD-quality 16-bit 44,100Hz decoder with Audio Assist(R) for easy configuration without CVs, and a Keep-Alive(R) device for uninterrupted operation, even over dirty track. The WOWSound diesel-electric locomotive package includes an authentic horn, bell, prime mover, startup/shutdown, compressor, cooling fan, coupler close/release, brake release/application, crew alert, grade crossing quill, station announcements, and more. It also includes dual flywheels, a can motor, E-Z Mate(R) knuckle couplers and RP-25 wheels for operation on Code 70 and larger rail. The SC-44 is one of many Bachmann HO Scale locomotives.
