Description
Prototype: German Railroad, Inc. (DB AG) combustion powered rail car (VT), road number 796 702-9, with control car (VS), road number 996 778-7. Dual motor design, built starting in 1955. Used in commuter service (branch lines). The cars look as they did around 1996.
Model: The cars have frames constructed of die-cast metal. The motor car has a motor with a flywheel. Both axles on the motor car powered. The cars have a digital decoder and a sound generator for operation with mfx and DCC. Maintenance-free LEDs are used for the headlights, marker lights, and interior lighting. They work in conventional operation and they can be controlled digitally. There are rear view mirrors for one-man operation. There are special operating couplers between the cars. The motor car can also be used by itself. Reproduction non-working prototype couplers for installation on the ends of the train are included. Total length over the buffers 175 mm / 6-7/8.
