In 1946, the Netherlands State Railways took over more than 2,000 coaches from USATC stocks. Among them were 1,000 covered freight wagons, which were put into service with numbers 22501-23400. These were used until 1953.
As there was a shortage of paint in the post-war years, only the most necessary changes were made: the cars initially retained their olive green USATC colour; only the USATC lettering was painted over.
