The locomotives are intended for the operation of express connections in domestic and interstate traffic on high-speed lines, e.g. Praha - Berlin - Hamburg, Praha - Vienna - Graz or Praha - Budapest, where line sections with a speed of 200 km/h or more are in operation or preparation. Thanks to their high traction power of 6.4 MW, the Vectron locomotives can haul express trains at speeds of up to 230 km/h. Equipped for push-pull operation, it makes cross-border transport in Europe even easier and thus offers railway companies a flexible solution.
