From 1882 to 1910, approximately 1,550 tender locomotives of the type T3 in different designs were supplied to the Royal Prussian Railway Administration (K.P.E.V.) and other state railways. As the type Cn2, this locomotive had a friction load of 36 t in its M III-4p design, and was able to reach a maximum speed of 40 km/h with an output of 300 PSi.
Numerous other railways, both within Germany and abroad, from works railways to state railways, had these engines in their fleets. The little locomotives were also operated in Italy. There they were designated as series 999.
