Description

The Broadway Limited HO Scale Track Inspection Theater Car is based on the car modified by the Chicago & North Western, but similar to those used on other railroads. The prototype was originally built in 1954 by Pullman-Standard for Canadian National as a sleeper, the car served CN and VIA Rail Canada until 1984. Rebuilt in the Milwaukee Rail Car shop, the car was transformed it into a theater-inspection car for the Chicago & North Western Railway (CNW). In 1985, the car was purchased by CNW, renumbered as 420, and named "Fox River" after the beloved river central to CNW's Wisconsin territory. Following the 1995 Union Pacific-CNW merger, the Fox River joined UP's roster, receiving a comprehensive renovation in 1997 and a fresh paint update in 2006. The car is often seen bringing up the markers on UP business trains. Other railroads operate similar inspection cars on their business trains, so this model is offered in several schemes. Each car is equipped with individually controllable lighting, including operational ditch lights, marker lights, spotlights, and interior lighting, offering an authentic, lifelike display. Other features include a detailed and decorated interior, accurate underbody components, and precisely replicated roof details. The Track Inspection Theater Car is one of many detailed Broadway Limited HO Scale passenger cars.
