The steam locomotives of the Ty2 class of the Polish State Railways were used from 1942. It is a class 52 war locomotive of the German State Railway. After the Second World War, 1,207 locomotives from this class remained with the PKP. Until steam traction was no longer used, the Ty2 was the largest locomotive series in Poland. Several locomotives from this class have survived to this day.
