The class 185.2 is an electric dual-system locomotive featuring a crash-optimised locomotive body by Bombardier Transportation. It can be operated on both the 15 kV/16 2/3 Hz and 25 kV/ 50 Hz AC voltage systems commonly used in Europe.
The 185 389 was delivered to the DB AG in 2009 and has been approved for Germany and Austria. Over the course of a comprehensive cooperation regarding the transport of new vehicles between the DB-AG corporate group and the car manufacturer Audi, the locomotive was provided with a conspicuous special design.
