Wired mobile decoders with SoundFX and accessory type functions for most HO scale locomotives. Preloaded with selectable steam and diesel sound schemes. Decoders include 28mm Speaker & 330uF capacitor. Please Note: The SFX064D and SFX0416 have no motor functions and are designed to be used in conjunction with a standard mobile decoder such as a DH123D etc.

Regarding N Scale applications:
Although the SFX0416 decoder PCB is physically small enough to fit into many types of N Scale rolling stock and dummy locomotives, for N Scale applications the standard 28mm speaker would have to be replaced with a smaller device.
The SFX0416 is an add-on type sound decoder, meaning it traditionally works with a standard DCC motor decoder in locomotive applications.
N-Scale locomotives generally do not have the necessary space for both the SFX0416 and a motor decoder; as such the SFX0416 is not suitable for these applications.
