And, he picked one as an addition to the 1978 product range. The model of choice was the Apal Jet, which attracted attention, above all, with the unusual wedge shape of its plastic tub chassis. In the original, this shape was the perfect complement to the snappy driving characteristics of the Apal, which was capable of darting from 0 to 100 km\/h in 9 seconds. Naturally, the Apal was powered by a 1,750 cc four-cylinder boxer engine that generated 85 hp. Tipping the scales at merely 630 kilograms of tare weight, it weighed 300 kilograms less than a series-production Beetle. This let the Apal top out at a maximum speed of approx. 150 km\/h\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Wiking","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51846809714968,"sku":"IC-Wiking-003411","price":19.95,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0753\/7023\/4136\/files\/wiking-003411-ho-vw-buggy-copper-metallic-cars-trucks-927.jpg?v=1777011520","url":"https:\/\/ictrainsandhobbies.com\/products\/wiking-003411-ho-vw-buggy-copper-metallic","provider":"InterCity Trains and Hobbies","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
