By 1923, German manufacturers had already built more than 3,700 of these versatile, triple-coupled locomotives. The P 8 was a universally deployable locomotive, regularly seen hauling all categories of trains. After the turmoil of the two world wars, they served with almost all European railway administrations.\u003cbr\u003ePoland received a total of 192 engines from Prussia's rolling stock after 1918. From the outset, they were the most important steam locomotives for local passenger transport for the PKP and were designated as the Class Ok1.
