The tank locomotive was built in 1936 by the Arnold Jung Lokomotivfabrik in Kirchen (Sieg). With its 1'C1' wheel arrangement and a top speed of 90 km\/h, it was ideally suited to both passenger and light freight trains.\u003cbr\u003eAfter being taken out of service in 1974, the locomotive was initially preserved and, in 1976, acquired by the Dutch heritage railway Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij.
